Tres Jolie Art Journal Page

 Hey everyone. Liv here and I am back with these Spooktacular collections for the month of October. I am huge Halloween fan so couldn't resist getting all of the kits this month. For this project i am using items from the Mixed Media kit and the Tag and Cards kit to create an art journal page. 

 

 

First up I sprayed a page in my art journal with the Mica sprays from the Tres Jolie Mixed Media kit.  I used my heat gun to dry off the pages. 

 Then I used one of the sprays and placed it on a stencil to use the stencil as a "stamp" for the background. 

I felt the background was getting too dark so I used the Distress Oxide crayons from the kit through the stencil to bring in a brighter color and to add texture. 

I then took one of my resin pieces out of my stash and sprayed it with the mica sprays and used the waxed crayons to add a more rusty finish to it. 

For the elements on the page, I fussy cut some pieces from the card/tag set, combined it with the rice paper and some die cuts from my stash. 

Finished it off with some splatters and then my project was done.

Tres Jolie Mixed Media Canvas

 Hey everyone. Liv here and I am back with these Spooktacular collections for the month of October. I am huge Halloween fan so couldn't resist getting all of the kits this month. For this project i am using items from the Mixed Media kit. 

 

Now it seems in some spooky twists of events, Dana and I, channeled a similar spooktastic creation.  For the first step I sprayed the base of the canvas with one of the Mica sprays from this month's and a Distress Oxide spray. 

Then I used some rice papers I have in my stash and glued it down to the surface. Since I did not dry it, it already colored through the paper. In order to lighten it a bit, I used the less dyed pieces of the rice paper and glue it to the top of the rice paper base. 

Once I had that down, I had an old cardboard lid to a box and decided to spray the sides with the kit's mica sprays and then used one of the images from the rice papers included in this month's kit on the lid. 

I took some of the fibers I had in my stash which was originally a beige color and sprayed it with the Mica powders to give it a more gray color. 

Then I took out the crayons that came in this month kit and used it to color the chipboard pieces from Tres Jolie. Quick tip here, one you color the image, you then blend it in to create an almost wax like look to the chipboard. 

Finally, I glued all the pieces down and my project was done.

Tres Jolie Mixed Media Halloween Sign

 Hey everyone. Liv here and I am back with these Spooktacular collections for the month of October. I am huge Halloween fan so couldn't resist getting all of the kits this month. For this project i am using items from the Scrapbook kit and the Mixed Media kit. 

First up I used the papers from the scrapbooking kit to cover the wood board. I inked the edges up with the crayons and Mica Sprays that came in the kit.

Next I inked up and layers other papers from the Scrapbook kit to create more dimension.

Then I took out on of the chipboard from the haunted house album and covered it with the gorgeous rice paper that comes in the Mixed media kit.  I then inked the edges up with the Mica spray. 

 

I used some of the Tres Jolie Scrolls and sprayed them with the Mica sprays. Can I say these sprays are so gorgeously sparkly!! I just love it.

Tres Jolie September Resin Art Journal and Tag

 Hey everyone. Liv here to bring you not one but TWO project using this month's September Mixed Media Set.

 

 

My focus with these projects is one using the Mica powders that came with the kit. I created both an art journal page and a tag.  First I used my Mica powder in my mold before I set my resin. The powder is dry when I rubbed it into the mold and a simple paintbrush will work for this part. 

Once I did that, I poured some resin into the mold.  For the smaller flower, I mixed in the resin after it was made versus before to see how that effect would be.

 

 

I did not use fast setting resin so I had to wait 24 hours to use it. Then I moved on to making a quick tag. I took out my gel plate, sprayed it and then used one of my texture plate stamps and stamped onto the tag. 

 

Once that was dry, I added some rub on stamps and the smaller flower resin and sentiment to finish it off. 

 Next I moved on to my art journal page. Here I just stamp with embossing powder and rubbed the mica powder into the stamped areas.

For this one, the page came together very quickly because all I did was stamp and some stenciling and added some fibers from my stash. The show stopper for this piece was the resin piece I made that combined the mica powders. 

 

 

Tres Jolie Mixed Media Canvas using the September Kit of the month

 Hey everyone. Liv here to bringing you my first project using this month's September Mixed Media Set. The full video here shows how I made this canvas using some of the amazing items in the kit and the Tres Jolie Chipboards

I started off with priming the canvas with White Gesso andthen using the Mica powders that came in the kit to create my own gesso colors. I was in the mood to use blue and green together as the base. 

Next, I used one of the stencils I received from a previous Tres Jolie kit to add more dimension to the project. 

Once I did that, I took a stamp from my stash and used the gilding flakes glue to stamp some images down. I then took my gilding flakes and applied it to the stamped areas.

I then did some random stamping, added some Lindy gang spray to the edges and some rub on stamps. I then decided to apply more gilded flakes onto the chipboard piece as well to make it match with the flakes on the background. 

 Then I took some chipboard pieces from my stash, colored them with more of the custom color gesso I created with adding the mica powder to the white gesso. Finally I added some Nuvo drops and a sentiment and my piece is done.

Tres Jolie Mixed Media Cards- August Kit

 Hey everyone. Liv here to bring you another project using this month's August Mixed Media Set. 

For this one, I mentioned in my blog post last week that the coverage from the TCW Stardust Butters is fantastic, a nice shimmer, dries fast and overall good coverage. That is why I decided to use the butters as a central item in my cards this month.

First up, I took two pieces of cardstock in my stash and cover the panels completely with the TWC-Butters. 

Once the panels were all dried, I used on of the larger flower set dies I have in my stash to cut the flowers out on the two panels.

For the first one, I did a quick splatter background to match this month's Tres Jolie Challenge Mood board.  Be sure to check out the colors this month and hope you enter to win.

 

Once the splatter was done, I placed the large black die cut and used some of the gold die cuts. Then did a little ink, Nuvo drops and this card was done.

For the next one I made, I used the vellum to ink it up.

 

I then layer down the rest of the gold die cuts and stenciled using this month's kit stencil. 

Once that was done, I added more Nuvo drops and this card was done too.

So here are the finished cards. I hope you enjoyed this project.
